Announcements

Pastoral Council

In the coming weeks, we will be establishing a pastoral council at the parish. More details will be in the bulletin next week, but here is a preview: The pastoral council will be an advisory and consultative group to help the pastor of the parish focus on and carry out its mission. It will consist of eight members. Five will be elected by parishioners, two will be appointed by the pastor, and one will be a member of the parish Finance Council. The pastoral council is open to all active members of St. Joseph and Our Lady of Guadalupe. But it is essential that all members be prayerful, passionate about serving the Lord, love the Church, and open to cooperating with others.

Ordinarily, the Pastoral Council will meet every two months, but as we get things started, we will be meeting monthly. It is essential that members be able to make most, if not all, of the meetings.

Parishioners may nominate other parishioners or themselves for the pastoral council. Once a person is nominated, they will receive more detailed information about the Pastoral Council, so that they may prayerfully discern whether or not the should run.

Here is the schedule of how things will proceed:

  • February 9-10, 16-17: announce establishment of pastoral counci
  • February 16-24: accept nominations for pastoral council
  • March 2-3: announce nominees to parish
  • March 9-10: vote for pastoral council at weekend Masses
  • March 16-17: announce members of pastoral council
Please keep this process in your prayers and prayerfully consider whether you or someone you know at the parish is being called to serve on this council.
  • Parish Updates
    St. Joseph
Parish Hall - Contractors came by last week to look at the hall and they are optimistic that we can start to restore it in the near future.
Church - We will hopefully get a new roof beginning February 25. We were scheduled to get one this week, but it looks like it is going to rain most of the week.
Rectory - It’s still for sale! Please say a prayer that we can get it sold soon.
    Our Lady of Guadalupe
